Queen Marie Severyn

Queen Marie Severyn

21 year old Marie is a resident of Centerville and a 2010 graduate of Seton Home Study School. The daughter of Kristine and Thomas Severyn, Marie will be a senior at The Ohio State University this fall. She is majoring in Animal Nutrition. Marie has taken 3 years of American Sign Language at Sinclair Community College. At Sinclair she became a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Through this society she volunteered at blood drives, at St. Vincent de Paul, and at Walk for Independence which supports MRDD. She also volunteers through and judges at the Ohio 4-H Dog Program.

Marie participates in OSU’s Pre-Vet Club, Food and Animal Club, and enjoys playing the violin and cake decorating. She has trained dogs for 13 years, and service dogs for two. Three have been placed with kids with disabilities.

Marie won first place at the 2009 Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup in the Senior Speaking Contest. She has been an active member of this community her entire life. As Miss Holiday at Home, Marie would promote her community as a wonderful place to live, work, and play,

Princess Amber Wenzler Princess Amber Wenzler

The daughter of Lisa and Mike Wenzler, Amber is a 2010 graduate of Centerville High School. She is currently attending Ohio University where she is majoring in finance and marketing.

Amber enjoys volunteering at the Dayton Soup Kitchen and is highly involved in her sorority, Chi Omega, at Ohio University. She was able to help raise enough money to send a little girl to Disney World as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

When not studying and volunteering with her sorority, Amber keeps busy by snowboarding, running, and spending time with her family and friends. She has also had the great opportunity of traveling to 8 countries in 30 days. This experience made her realize how lucky she is to be an American. She is even in the process of gaining her real estate license.

Amber’s greatest achievement was winning first place two years in a row with her business plan for the Business Professionals of America. Amber would like to positively influence young women and prove to them that they can be extraordinary without falling into the temptation of peer pressure. If crowned Miss Holiday at Home, Amber will act as an example of someone who can achieve their goals and dreams with strong determination.

Princess Laura Cordonnier

Princess Laura Cordonnier

The daughter of Serena and James Cordonnier, Laura is a graduate of Fairmont High School. She will be a freshman this fall at Miami University where she will major in Chemistry while aspiring to be a pediatrician.

Laura volunteers her time to many organizations such as; St. Vincent’s Homeless Shelter, the Special Olympics, and We Care Arts. She has also traveled to Russia and Bolivia to help out with cleaning up an orphanage and constructing a school.

At Fairmont, Laura was a campaign leader for the Spirit Chain organizing fundraisers. She also participated in tennis, National Honors Society, and the United Student Body. Along with her academics, Laura is heavily involved with her church and serves as a Vacation Bible School leader and Sunday school teacher.

Laura is a fan of sweets and animal print! Her greatest achievement was graduating 4th in her class with straight A’s her entire high school career. Laura loves children. She would relish the opportunity to show them that they too can be involved and make a difference in their community, all while trying their best in school and in everything they do.

Princess Allie Dyer

Princess Allie Dyer

The 19 year old daughter of Vicki and Thad Laywell, Allie is a 2010 graduate of Fairmont High School. In the fall, she will be a sophomore at Ohio University majoring in Political Science.

At OU, Allie serves as an intern in the Community Service division. She organized the University’s Tornado Relief Response to help raise thousands of dollars and pounds of food for hundreds of displaced families. Allie is also involved in student politics through the Student Senate and Women’s Affairs Committee. Next year she will serve as Vice Commissioner of Academic Affairs and a Voinovich Undergraduate Research Scholar.

In her spare time, Allie enjoys yoga, camping, swimming, and just having fun with friends and family. Her greatest achievement has been working as an intern for the Mayor of Kettering and Senator Brown in Cincinnati. Allie has always enjoyed watching the Queen and her court preside over the Holiday at Home Parade. It has become a vital part of her summer. She remembers how much she admired those women and would like to serve as a dedicated role model for others as Miss Holiday at Home.

Princess Amanda Horst

Princess Amanda Horst

Amanda is the daughter of Mary Beth and Bill Horst and a 2010 graduate of Centerville High School. She is majoring in Chemical Engineering and will be a sophomore in the fall at the University of Notre Dame.

Throughout her schooling, Amanda has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Bethany Lutheran Village, Notre Dame’s canned food drive, Relay for Life, and more.

Amanda has been involved in many clubs. She is a member of the Student Government, Hall Council, Color Guard, and Spanish Honor Society. She also holds a passion for dance. Amanda is the only girl in a family of five children. She enjoys country music and even attended the CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

Receiving her acceptance letter from Notre Dame was Amanda’s greatest achievement. She has always looked at the Miss Holiday at Home Queen and Princesses as poised and humble role models. Amanda would be thrilled to have the opportunity to be one of the role models that a little girl sitting along a parade route could look up to.
