This year’s Kettering Holiday at Home Parade will be a great event with many new units and crowd favorites from the previous years. Parade day is an exciting day for all participants as well as the crowds that come to see them. The parade committee works from April to September to get as many entertaining units into the parade as possible. We hope once again, as we have in the past, to entice as many as 100,000 spectators to the event. With that many people watching the parade it makes for one of the largest parades in Ohio, attracting spectators from throughout the Miami Valley and surrounding areas. The parade flows north on Far Hills Avenue starting at Stroop Road and ending just before Dorothy Lane making the parade route just under a mile. The morning of the parade many people come early to pick their perfect viewing area and a few diehard watchers camp overnight in anticipation of the big event.
The parade includes units from civic groups, high school music programs, service organizations, car clubs and our honored veterans from various branches of the military. The Holiday at Home Scholarship Winners will take their honored place in the parade, The Grand Marshal honoree will join the parade as well. The event is fun for the entire family.
