Happy Anniversary HOLIDAY AY HOME!!! This year Kettering's Labor Day tradition turns 50! Fifty years ago a group of Kettering families decided to create a fun, safe environment for families to celebrate the holiday weekend. This festival, totally planned by local volunteers has become one our cities favored traditions.

In the planning stages of this event I began to reflect on past years with Holiday at Home. Many of us can remember walking in our first parade, decorating our bikes or building a float. As a young man you may have found football glory playing in the youth football tournament. As a young lady maybe you dreamed of being a queen. However we remember Holiday at Home our memories always take us back to our wonderful community and our family. Each year when Labor Day arrives I am grateful for Kettering and it's small town feel. I enjoy seeing all of the families at the parade and walking with friends at the craft show.

I would like to thank the city of Kettering for it's continued support of this festival. Each year we have grown and your support has remained constant. With Fairmont's pancake breakfast and the fantastic Alter Fest, this weekend has truly become a city- wide venture. With your support we continue to bond as a community.

Words cannot express how much appreciation I have for my fellow committee members. Thank you for all that you do. You are truly like a family to me. Your support and teamwork effort make Holiday at Home great !
