Welcome to another exciting year for the Kettering Holiday at Home parade and festivities. It's hard to image that I've been attending the parades and festivals for over 50 years. The Kettering Holiday at Home Committee is working on the 2016 events with a theme of: Serve. Protect. Defend. This year we will be recognizing our Public Safety organizations from Police, Fire, and the Military branches. We'll have several of the first Kettering Fire Department fire engines in the parade, fire engines from area departments, police vehicles, and canine/officers.
We'll be having Kettering Hospital Med Flight, Piper Warriors, Wright B Flyer fly over the parade route. The Shriners will be back along with the many floats, marching bands, and other parade participants.
The 5K race and the children's Fun Run is a great way for the entire family to kick off the Holiday at Home festivities. Our car shows will be well worth viewing with two different cars shows for Sunday and Monday.
We sponsor scholarships for high school graduates so be sure to apply for an opportunity to assist with their college tuition. Information for applying is on our website.
The Holiday at Home parade and festival is a great way for the family to enjoy the ending of the summer activities together. We have entertainment, arts and crafts, children's activities, great food, and more for everyone.
We'll see you for the fun September 4 and 5.
